From individual consciousness to embrace the being of entire Planet
The concept of "Collective Mind" was originally formulated by French philosopher and sociologist Émile Durkheim in his 1893 work "The Division of Labour in Society". Durkheim believed that societies were made up of interdependent individuals and their collaboration created a collective mind that influenced the thoughts and behaviors of individual members. This concept was further developed and studied in various fields, including Mass Society theory, Collective Intelligence theory, and Artificial Intelligence.
An Interdependent Neural Collective is one possible evolution of these assumptions, in the vision of connecting thoughts through a communication network. This to allow people to share emotions and knowledge with each other in real-time, moving from individual minds to collective consciousness.
Today, through social media, there is already a concept of mass communication, but research in this field hypothesizes a direct neural connection, an extended synapse that can directly connect human beings, that allows communication with thoughts, emotions, and feelings, with the goal of also developing a historical consciousness, so that present and future generations can learn directly from the experience of others and from past mistakes in order to prevent them from being repeated. A global awareness that therefore allows for greater communicative understanding between people, going beyond the limitations of language and verbal or written communication.
